The best definition to describe anything that is best in design is that “it adopts the users culture so well such that sometimes user does not even notices it”. We can judge interfaces of any websites or applications through the following parameters:

  1. Navigation- It's all about the process that users follow throughout their use in the application. The ease in navigation it offers, more usable and functional it will going to be.
  2. Readability- We all love to see colours around us but when it comes to choose colours for delicate things such as interfaces, we should be subtle in our choices. Readability of text should be kept at priority because it would be considered more functional interface when it communicates the exact message to the users.
  3. Mobile friendly/ Laptop friendly- It should be decided very well that in which screen you want your interface to be in. The way you want to show as in vertical scrolling or horizontal scrolling.
  4. Important messages/ Icons- Sometimes in order to show each and everything to the user, we miss out on highlighting important information. This is where information visualization role comes in. Information visualization should be in a sequence as how we want our data to be communicated.

5. Colours- Colours play an important role as we get up in the morning we start to see things because of their colours. Choosing colours for your interface can be a very hard task as it requires lot of colour coordination skills. It is also important to consider our primary user group. For example, a website containing information for kids can go with blue shades.
